And at the place of the old demolished shop house the government built the new shop houses. The old shop house which was not broken during the plan of modernization still exists but they aren’t in good condition. These type of buildings were evolved during colonial rule in Singapore at 18th century, after the colonial rule most of them became abounded and not for any use which was because of poor maintenance.

Shop houses are two to three storey row building, having commercial space in the ground floor and living place above. In the commercial space you can use it for any commercial use as u like but for doing so you first need to get the approval from Singapore’s sales division. The new renovated shops have colorful facades, mostly being inspired by European neo0- classical motifs and with louver windows.

At present the price of each shop house is about S$800,000 which is cheap but the pricing of these shop houses really dependent on the area you want to buy for example shop houses in Woodlands region are very costly as it is on the prime location for business in Singapore.
They cost of these shop houses range between 2.5 to 3 million Singaporean dollars i.e. approximately $1.7 million to $ 2 million. Where as in the east coast of the city-state Singapore these shop houses sell nearly at a cost of 5 million Singaporean dollars to 8 million Singaporean dollars i.e. about $3.3 million to $5.3 million.

These shop house interiors are basically of wood work like the floorings, beams, bedroom and this wood work is also extended to kitchen. Being the interiors with mostly wood this is the prime matter of concern for the fire safety there are every chance for possible fire accidents in these shop houses. The prime advantage with these shop houses is that u can renovate it as you like once you own it.

At present most of these shop houses are use d as office space and they are being called as shop office. There are no changes in constructional features of these shop office but both the ground floor and the above space is also used for office space. The shop office is also used as multi-purpose i.e. commercial and residential purpose.

Investing in Singapore

Singapore is known to be a land of opportunities, looking from the business perspective view we can assure that Singapore meets the unmatched performance with its sophistication, versatility, vivid culture, friendly government, enthusiasm for commerce, cleanliness and support for the foreign or overseas investors.
Located at the cross roads of Asia, Singapore has the advantage of moving to new heights.
