Buona Vista is a subdivision of city-sate Singapore but it is often referred as a town. It is located close to Dover and Gimh Moh estates and to Holland village. It is a sub zone under Queenstown district; it is dividing between Holland- Bukit Timah GRC and the West Coast GRC.

Buona Vista is named so because of it good view it offers from the hilly geography of its area, Buona Vista is an Italian word which means ‘good sight’.


The prime residential area of Buona Vista is the One-North area it offers great variety of housing area. The housings here range from the work lofts, Wessex Estate, colonial black-and-white house at Rochester Park and the Nepal hill.


The One-North residences are a joint venture of Kheng Leong, UOL & Low Keng Huat and it is expected to be completed by the end of 2009. Buona Vista is proving out to be a better area for living of expatriates.


Buona vista is local educational hub as it is the house of Ministry of Education and The Civil Service College both of which serve for the development of educational system and teachers in Singapore. There are also sciences and technology hubs being slated in Buona Vista in which there will be R&D of large scale industries of reputed ventures.


Buona Vista has a MRT satiation named after it on the East-West line, by 2010 when the phase one of Circle line gets completed than the Buona Vista MRT will serve between East-West line and the Circle Line.

The Grassroots Heritage center was established by National Community Leadership Institute which is located in South Buona Vista Road it was formed to educate the community on the evolvement of Peoples Association’s grassroots for their active promotion of racial harmony and social cohesion.


Rochester Park was started in 2006 which was to serve as a heritage sight of North Buona Vista road it has several double storied black-and-white bungalows which represents Singapore’s colonial past. Rochester Park consists of a dining and life style retail hub, Rochester Park 11, Rochester Park 20 and serviced villa resort with lavish commercial facilities.

Bukit Timah is a hill in Singapore has an altitude of 164 meters and is the highest point of the city-state Singapore; it is located near the center of the state of Singapore Island. Bukit Panjang was formerly known as Zhenguha estate it has more than 500 ha of land space and nearly half of the space is being used for residential purpose. In Malay the word Bukit Panjang means range of long spread of hills and was used to describe the low hills stretching from Mandai to Bukit Timah. Bukit Merah means ‘red hill’ in Malay, the name was derived from the hilly village Malay kampung made of red soil. The Red Hill MRT and the EW19 MRT is the prime mode of transport for the 154,000 residents of Bukit Merah to the rest of the Singapore. Boon lay is a small housing estate situated in the western region of Singapore; it is in between Jurong West and newer Jurong West Extension, it comes under Jurong West Planning Area maintained by Urban redevelopment Authority.
